I own more than 12 copies of Weston Price Foundation’s “Healthfy 4 Life”. They are currently all checked out from my client lending library. Some will eventually get returned, but like many good books, some will not. So, I went on-line to order some more to have in my lending library and found the pdf on-line for free. I’m still going to order some physical copies to lend, but for anyone else who is interested, it’s a sweet and simple primer on healthy foods for growing families (and others) using traditional foods and cooking methods. here is a link to the pdf
Optimal nutrition during pregnancy starts with whole foods and cooking in your own kitchen. Once you’ve gotten a sample of these ideas and methods from Healthy 4 Life, I suggest graduating to Nourishing Traditions, by Sally Fallon.
But now that I’m on the topic of optimal nutrition during pregnancy it’s a perfect opportunity to rave about my now all time favorite book on nutrition: Your Personal Paleo Code by Chris Kresser. The only thing I don’t like about it is the title, but simply because it doesn’t do the book justice. I’ve listed to this nutrient dense audio book several times now. Each time picking up some new insight or ‘ah, ha, he explains that well’ moment. Chris Kresser also has a Baby Code on-line course that is excellent, albeit a bit expensive. I hope he writes a book on the topic so that it’s information is more accessible.
